Hello, I'm John Girvan, the founder of MarinerCredentials.com, established in 2022.

I am a tugboat captain and hold 1600 GRT Master Oceans, Third Mate Unlimited Tonnage Oceans, and numerous other National and STCW endorsements. My journey as a hawsepipe mariner has seen me through countless courses and upgrades, and I have personally experienced the challenges, frustrations, and delays that come with the Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) application process.

I've developed an easy to use online platform designed to simplify the information gathering and document submission process for fellow seafarers.

With in-depth knowledge of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) application requirements and procedures, I am well-equipped to handle the unique needs and goals of each mariner. Since founding MarinerCredentials.com, I’ve successfully completed and submitted hundreds of applications, assisting mariners across many different endorsement levels. I work with you personally through a step-by-step process for your individual needs.
